Lots of power, lasts forever
I have three batteries that I cycle through my D80. At the end of each day, I take one out of the charger and put the used one in. Truth be told, I probably only need two batteries.
My oldest battery is five years old and still holds a charge like it is new. My camera says all three batteries are acting like 100% new.
I get about 700 shots per charge (I don't use the flash much).
One minor complaint -- the camera could be designed to make it even easier to figure out how to put the battery in. But this is a small point and the designers perhaps have done as much as they could.
The charger blinks when it is charging, steady when fully charged. If it were me, I'd have a yellow light and a green light instead. A shorter cord on the charger would make it easier to haul around.
I wish the new Nikon's took the same battery. I don't see the need to change the design.

The first rechargable I've liked
This is the first rechargeable battery that I've liked. They last a very long time, charge well and I can use these in my D90 and future D300s and D700. I hate having to carry different batteries for everything, these make things easier.

How long does a battery last after repeated charges?
I am going on a two-week trip abroad. I have a D80 Nikon and two EN-EL3e batteries which I alternate when one needs to be recharged. The batteries are at least 5 years old. How many times can I recharge the battery before it needs to be replaced?

Battery life will vary with condition of the battery, temperature and how is used. Make sure to keep the battery contacts clean since soiled contacts can reduce battery performance. Use the battery immediately after charging sin it will lose their charge if left unused.Has staff answer

I have never heard of a different version of the En-EL3e and yes it should work with the D300. You can use the Nikon EN-EL4a/EN-EL4 with the MB-D10 battery pack See specifications on the Nikon website http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/dslr/d300s/spec.htm

I have an MH-18A charger wich works fine with my old EN-EL3 battery,
Recently I purchased an EN-EL3e battery, but when I try to charge it, the charger indicator bliks a couple of times and then the light turns off.
Is really charging the battery?
Is there any risk of explosion?

How to charge the EN-EL3e Rechargeable Li-ion Battery?
Do you have to deplete the battery before you recharge it?
Do you have to fully recharge the battery before using it again?
Do you have to take the battery out of the charger after the charging is complete? (or can you leave it in the charger, say, when charging it over night)
Will non-compliance with the above actions lead to decreased battery life?

Answer:
You don't have to wait for the battery to drain completely to recharge it again (you will noticed the battery indicator in the camera). If the battery is already charge remove it from the charger (there's no need to leave it overnight).
